Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 21, 2026. This explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with. Short version: we collect the minimum we need to run the board, we never sell your data, and there's no account to worry about because there isn't one.
Who we are

What we collect
When you submit a bid: the name and email you provide, a separate display name you choose (shown publicly on the leaderboard and the tile only if your bid is approved — this is never your billing name), and the image and link you submit. This is collected the moment you submit, whether or not your bid ends up being approved.
Payment details (card number, billing address, etc.) will, once payments are connected, be entered directly into Stripe's own checkout at submission time. We never see or store your card information ourselves.
Basic site analytics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and doesn't build a profile of you or track you across other websites. It tells us things like how many people visited and which pages were popular — nothing tied to you personally.
How we use it
- To review your submitted bid, image, and link before anything goes live, and to confirm your payment actually went through before transferring ownership of a tile to you.
- To show your chosen display name — and only your display name, never your billing details — publicly on the leaderboard and on the tile you own.
- To keep a permanent record of bid history (amounts and display names, not payment details), the same way any marketplace keeps a transaction ledger.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site, and each only sees what it needs to do its job:
- Stripe — processes payments and collects your billing information directly. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Supabase — hosts our database (tile ownership and bid history).
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and provides the cookie-free analytics mentioned above.
We do not sell your information to anyone, ever.
How long we keep it
Bid history and public ownership records are kept indefinitely, the same way a store's sales ledger would be — this is public information by design (see FAQ for why).
If your bid isn't approved, the image you submitted is deleted right away. The name and email from that submission are kept internally as a record that the submission happened, but are never made public.
Your choices
Since there's no account system and we don't collect anything about you until you actually submit a bid, there's nothing to log into, manage, or opt out of ahead of time.
Children's privacy
TileTakeover is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
