Do I need to create an account?
Nope, and you never will. There's no login, no password to pick, nothing to remember for next time. You submit your bid with just your name and email, and once it's approved, checkout happens through Stripe the same way you'd buy anything else online — that's it, you own a tile. Come back next month and claim another one exactly the same way.
Can I get a refund?
All sales are final, aside from confirmed fraud on a payment method — that's handled by our payment processor, not a refund from us. Outside of that: the second you win, that tile is locked for a full 24 hours where literally nobody can outbid you. You're guaranteed a real, uncontested day in front of everyone who visits the board. That guarantee is what you paid for, and you get it every time.
How much will it cost to take over someone else's tile?
At least $1.00 more than what's currently on it, no matter how expensive the tile already is. See How It Works for a full table of examples.
What happens after I submit a bid?
Your bid, image, and link all get reviewed together first — nothing is charged until that's approved. Once it is, your payment goes through, the tile is yours, and your 24-hour lock starts right then: a full day where nobody can take it back from you no matter what they're willing to pay. If it isn't approved, you're never charged.
Will my image show up right away?
Not instantly, no — your image goes through that same quick human review as the rest of your bid before it goes live on the public board. It's a small delay, but it's what keeps the board from turning into a mess — nobody wants to land on a board full of junk.
What happens if nobody outbids me?
Then you just keep it. There's no expiration date, no renewal fee, nothing you need to do to hold onto a tile — it's yours for as long as nobody else decides it's worth paying more for.
Can I own more than one tile?
As many as you want. Every purchase goes through the same guest checkout, so there's nothing stopping you from claiming a whole cluster of tiles if that's what you're after.
What happens to me if someone takes over my tile?
Ownership passes to them the same way it passed to you — instantly, no argument, no chance to match their offer. It can only happen after your 24-hour lock has expired, so you always get your guaranteed day first. After that, the board's fair game for everyone, including whoever currently owns your old tile.
Will I pay more than the price shown on the board?
A little, yes. Sales tax and card processing fees get added at checkout, the same way they would at any online store. The number on the board is exactly what the tile costs — the extra at checkout is just the standard cost of paying by card.
